PM Modi: India-France Partnership Enters a New Era of Cooperatio

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India-France relations have reached new heights, with both nations working together to strengthen their Special Global Strategic Partnership under his leadership and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Addressing the inauguration of the BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in Paris via video conference, PM Modi said cooperation is expanding across technology, artificial intelligence, defence, space and climate action. He noted that 2026 is being celebrated as the India-France Year of Innovation.
Modi highlighted the deep cultural and historical ties between the two countries, including the contribution of Indian soldiers in France during wartime and the role of French scholars in promoting Sanskrit and Indian spiritual traditions.

He said yoga has also emerged as an important bridge between the people of India and France, citing International Yoga Day celebrations near the Eiffel Tower.
Describing the new temple as “Made in India, Built in France,” Modi said Indian craftsmanship and stonework have been combined with modern French engineering. He expressed hope that the temple would become a lasting symbol of India-France cooperation and serve as a centre of devotion, service and cultural exchange across Europe.
