Delhi Building Collapse: 6 Dead, Several Feared Trapped in Rubble

At least six people have died after a five-storey residential building collapsed in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area on Sunday, with more people feared trapped under the rubble.
The building, reportedly housing several students, collapsed around 1:30 pm. AIIMS confirmed the deaths, while six others rescued from the site are undergoing treatment and are said to be stable.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said around 80% of the debris had been cleared by Monday morning. She attributed the collapse to water accumulation combined with ongoing repair work in the basement.
Officials have so far recovered 12 people, but the exact number of those still trapped remains unclear. Eyewitnesses and local officials said some students were heard calling for help from beneath the rubble.
An adjacent building was evacuated as a precaution. Rescue operations are continuing to locate and safely evacuate anyone still trapped.
