Odisha Weather: Yellow Alert for Thunderstorms in 14 Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 14 districts of Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over the next three days.
The warning covers Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh.

According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds of 30–40 kmph may occur at isolated places during the period from September 30 to October 2.
The weather alert remains valid in three phases:
September 30: Until 8:30 AM

October 1: 8:30 AM, September 30 to 8:30 AM
October 2: 8:30 AM, October 1 to 8:30 AM
Residents in the affected districts have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms and lightning activity.
