Odisha Targets Global Tourists with New Tourism Push

Odisha is stepping up efforts to strengthen its position as a major tourism destination in India, with a renewed focus on attracting international visitors and expanding economic opportunities for local communities.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Thursday said the state is pursuing an ambitious tourism strategy aimed at bringing Odisha onto the global tourism map while ensuring that the benefits of the sector reach small businesses and communities across the state.
She made the remarks while announcing the seventh edition of Odisha Travel Bazaar (OTB) 2026, scheduled to be held from October 3 to 5.

Promoting the theme “Think India, Think Odisha,” Parida said the state wants Odisha to be among the first destinations considered by people looking to explore or invest in India. She highlighted the government’s initiatives in adventure tourism, homestays and hospitality as key components of its tourism expansion plans.
Organised by the Odisha Tourism Department in collaboration with FICCI, the three-day business-to-business tourism event will feature more than 92 private exhibitors, tour operators from 27 countries and domestic buyers representing 32 cities. More than 6,000 pre-scheduled business meetings are expected to take place during the event.

Eight familiarisation tours will also be conducted before and after the bazaar, allowing tour operators, buyers, media professionals and influencers to experience Odisha’s tourism destinations firsthand.
The tours will cover the state’s heritage and spiritual sites, wildlife and natural landscapes, tribal culture, coastal attractions and experiential tourism offerings.
A special experience-sharing session by celebrity chef Ranveer Brar will also be held to highlight Odisha’s culinary heritage and promote food-based tourism.
