Odisha CM Announces ₹11 Lakh Reward for Hockey Players

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced cash rewards for the Indian women’s hockey team following its gold-medal-winning performance at the Asian Games 2026.
Each member of the victorious squad will receive ₹11 lakh, while every support staff member will be awarded ₹5.5 lakh for their contribution to the team’s success.
Congratulating the players and coaching staff, Majhi praised their discipline, determination and teamwork. He said the team’s achievement had brought pride to the nation and would inspire young athletes across the country.


Odisha has emerged as a major centre for hockey development in India, supporting the national teams through sports infrastructure, sponsorship and grassroots programmes.
The state government will organise a felicitation ceremony to honour the players and support staff, where the announced cash rewards will be presented.
