Odisha Spends ₹105 Crore on Investor Outreach, Receives ₹18.65 Lakh Crore Investment Intents

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government has spent around ₹105 crore on investor meets, roadshows and outreach programmes in India and abroad over the last two years, attracting investment intents worth ₹18.65 lakh crore from 365 companies, with the potential to generate over 21 lakh jobs.
Around 150 projects have also been grounded or inaugurated in the state during the period, creating employment opportunities for lakhs of people.
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, in a recent Assembly reply, said the government had organised 13 investor meets, roadshows and outreach programmes since June 2024.
Of the total expenditure, around ₹89 crore was spent on the Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 and its roadshows in New Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore. The government spent another ₹1.01 crore on Odisha-TEX 2025 and ₹2.26 crore on the Odisha Pharma Summit 2025.
Other major expenditures included ₹1.96 crore for the Odisha Investors’ Meet in Hyderabad, ₹1.83 crore in Kolkata, ₹2.44 crore in Ahmedabad, ₹3 crore for Enterprise Odisha in Rourkela and around ₹2 crore for the Odisha Food Pro-2026 summit in New Delhi.
The expenditure on the state delegation’s UAE investor outreach event is yet to be finalised.
Among the investment proposals, the Adani Group has committed ₹2.28 lakh crore, with an employment potential of 1.55 lakh, and the project has been partially approved. Vedanta’s ₹1 lakh crore investment in Rayagada, announced in 2025, is under implementation.
Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited, a Tata Steel subsidiary, is implementing a ₹61,769-crore investment in minerals, metals and downstream projects in Jajpur.
SAIL’s ₹50,800-crore investment in Sundargarh, expected to generate 11,500 jobs, is also under implementation. MCL’s ₹41,900-crore investment in the district, with an employment potential of 7,000, has been partially approved.
