Nine Dacoits Nabbed in Keonjhar

Keonjhar police arrested nine interstate dacoits near Narayanpur Shiv Temple under Town Police Station limits.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated team formed to tackle rising organized crime in the region.
The suspects were found in possession of five firearms and 30 rounds of ammunition. Police seized the weapons during the raid, which was planned after receiving intelligence inputs about the gang’s movements.
Officials confirmed that the arrested individuals were involved in multiple cases across state borders. The gang reportedly operated in coordinated strikes targeting remote areas and transport routes.
The firearms recovered include country-made pistols and other lethal weapons. Police believe the gang was preparing for another robbery when they were intercepted.
Keonjhar SP praised the swift action of the special team and emphasized the importance of proactive policing in curbing interstate criminal networks. The arrested dacoits are being interrogated for further leads.
This successful operation marks a significant step in dismantling organized crime in Odisha. Authorities plan to strengthen surveillance and intelligence-sharing to prevent future incidents.
