New error-free textbooks for students this year: Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School and Mass Education Department has assured  that students will receive error-free textbooks within the current academic year.

Addressing a press meet, School and Mass Education Secretary N Thirumala Naik said the state government has taken the matter very seriously.  Corrected and revised textbooks will be made available to students within a very short time. Experts and educationists are currently reviewing the errors.

Once the corrections are done, the revised versions of the textbooks will be uploaded on the department’s official website so that students and teachers can easily access and use the corrected editions. Once the process is complete, fresh textbooks will be printed and supplied to schools.

He added that both old committees and newly appointed experts are working together to finalise the corrections. The department has directed officials to complete the process transparently and at speed, ensuring that students face no disruption in their learning.

The Secretary appealed to students, parents, and teachers not to get confused and requested them to use the existing books until the corrected versions are officially released.
