Locals observe 12-hour bandh in Kantabanji

Balangir: Protesting against the negligence of development in their locality, residents of Kantabanji in Balangir district of Odisha observed a 12-hour bandh today.

Despite heavy rain, several locals and members of different organizations staged demonstration and blocked the main road of the town by extending their full supports to the bandh called by Kantabanji Truck Owners Association.

The protesters demanded the establishment of engineering colleges, agriculture colleges, nursing colleges and industrialization, as well as for the overall development of the region.

The dawn to dusk bandh which began at 6 AM will conclude at 6 PM. Vehicular moment was massively affected due to the bandh and road blockades. However, the emergency vehicles like ambulance, fire department and electricity department were allowed to commute.
