Women magistrate’s husband arrested over dowry harassment

Bhubaneswar: A case of dowry harassment has come to light after a woman magistrate accused her husband of mental and physical hasrassment, leading to his arrest.

As per the complaint lodged by the lady magistrate at the Bhubaneswar Mahila Police station, her husband S. K. Azizur Rahman has been torturing her both mentally and physically over alleged dowry demands since a long period of time.

When it went beyond her capacity and finding no other option left, she lodged a police complaint at the city-based Mahila Police station and sought action against Rahaman.

Acting on the complaint, police launched a probe into the matter and arrested the accused and forwarded him to the court.

Meanwhile, the incident has become a subject of discussion in the locality.
