Jitendra Singh Calls for Self-Reliant and Affordable Energy Sector

Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has called for a self-reliant, indigenous and technology-driven energy sector to strengthen India’s energy security and economic resilience.

Addressing the 6th International Climate Summit 2026 in New Delhi, he said India’s clean-energy transition must focus on nuclear power, biofuels, ethanol, sustainable fuels and the circular economy.

He stressed that technology, innovation, affordability and greater private-sector participation will be crucial to meeting India’s growing energy needs and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
