ISRO Set to Launch EOS-05 Earth Observation Satellite on September 4

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is scheduled to launch the EOS-05 Earth observation satellite from Sriharikota early tomorrow morning.
The satellite will be carried into space aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket, with liftoff planned for 2:55 AM from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh.

ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan described EOS-05 as an advanced Earth observation spacecraft and said it will be India’s first imaging satellite to be positioned in a geosynchronous orbit. The mission is expected to enhance the country’s Earth observation capabilities and strengthen the delivery of related services.

Narayanan made the remarks while speaking to the media after offering prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala on Wednesday.
He also said that all preparations for the launch have been completed at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
