iBRICS Summit to Draw Over 500 Investors, Finance Ministers and Business Leaders

More than 500 institutional investors, finance ministers and business leaders are expected to attend the inaugural iBRICS Summit, which will be held in New Delhi on September 12 and 13 alongside the 18th BRICS Summit.
The two-day event aims to bring sovereign capital closer to investment-ready projects in infrastructure, energy and digital development across BRICS member and partner countries. Sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and family offices participating in the summit collectively manage assets worth around $1 trillion.

Key discussions are likely to focus on cross-border investments, non-dollar settlement mechanisms and the development of payment systems within BRICS economies. Participants are also expected to explore the integration of national fast-payment platforms, including India’s UPI and Brazil’s Pix, as well as greater interoperability between central bank digital currencies.
The summit comes as BRICS nations navigate changing global trade patterns, US tariff pressures and the rising costs associated with dollar-based clearing. The meeting is intended to create stronger links between institutional investors and major infrastructure, energy and digital projects across the bloc.

India, which holds the BRICS chair in 2026, will host the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12-13. Leaders from BRICS member and partner countries, along with invited outreach nations, are expected to attend.
India’s BRICS chairship is centred on the theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a people-centric approach guided by the principle of “Humanity First.”
