Grievance Cell Mismanagement in Baleswar

Baleswar (Reporters Today Bureau): A joint public hearing of the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police was held at the Basta block office today. Earlier in the day, a letter from the District’s Information and Public Relations Department was issued to cover the public hearing in print, social and electronic media. Based on this, the journalists went to cover the news.

However, District Magistrate K. Sudarshan Chakraborty abused all media persons in the Grievance Cell and ordered them to leave, even ordering the police to evict them. All members of the media protested in front of the Cell and chanting slogans against the District Magistrate. Journalists have strongly condemned the district magistrate’s behavior. The Baleshwar district magistrate has been living in Baleshwar for a long time. This is not the first time that journalists, the general public have been abused.

The hearing was scheduled from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., but the District Magistrate arrived three hours late, at 10 a.m. Journalists have been demanding justice. Finally, at around 12 noon, Baleshwar SP Sudhanshu Mishra and the DM came and held a meeting and called for a public hearing and promised to cooperate in each case.

While the departmental officials were sitting in the AC room inside the big hall, the general public who came to complain stayed in the heat. He turned a blind eye to Dharma and arrangef chairs for a few people. There was a lack of access to safe drinking water for the people from far away and there was widespread dissatisfaction among the general public and blamed the Basta BDO Gyan Ranjan Sahu for the mismanagement.

The district magistrate has no knowledge of punctuality. Registration counter was closed beforetime. Hundreds of people were forced to return, A total of 117 name was registered of which 62 were heard. Most of the allegations were made in connection with the prime minister’s housing, old age, disability benefits and food security. Finally, journalists questioned the district magistrate about corruption in the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, NREGA, mung bean, potato, bean seed hoardings, etc. in his time, while sand, soil, rocks and mafia raj were rampant in the district.
