Five Workers Injured In Explosion At NTPC Plant In Odisha’s Angul

Angul: Five workers were critically injured following a powerful explosion at the NTPC thermal power plant in Kaniha area of Angul district late Friday night.

According to sources, the incident occurred inside Bunker-B of the power generation unit, leaving five workers seriously injured. They were immediately rushed to the NTPC Medical facility for treatment.

As the condition of two of the injured workers reportedly deteriorated, they were later shifted to Bhubaneswar for specialised medical care.

The exact circumstances that led to the explosion are yet to be established. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the incident and ascertain whether any safety lapses were involved.
