Dakshina Moda Ritual Begins as Odisha Police Intensify Security for Bahuda Yatra

Puri: The three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra commenced the sacred Dakshina Moda ritual on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone ahead of the annual Bahuda Yatra. The ceremonial turning of the chariots was carried out amid religious fervour and elaborate rituals in the presence of servitors and thousands of devotees.

Senior Odisha Police officers remained on the ground to closely monitor security, crowd management, and traffic arrangements during the ritual. They reviewed the movement of devotees and coordinated with field personnel to ensure the ceremony concluded smoothly and without any disruption.

With lakhs of devotees expected to participate in the return car festival, Odisha Police have strengthened security measures across Puri. Officials are maintaining strict vigil around the chariots and key congregation points to facilitate a safe, orderly, and hassle-free pilgrimage experience.

As the chariots prepare for the divine Bahuda Yatra, the administration and police continue to work in close coordination to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees visiting the holy city.
