COVID rumours in Brahmapur: MKCG Medical authority denies reports of positive cases

Brahmapur: The rumours of treating COVID-19 positive cases at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Ganjam district has led to confusion but the authorities at MKCG Medical College authorities have clearly refuted these rumours.

Dr. Sudeepa Das, the Superintendent of the MCH, said that no COVID-19 positive case is being treated in the medical college. No person has been asked to go for COVID test by the medical college authorities, she added.

She revealed due to change of weather the patients having viral fever have increased and these patients have got symptoms which resembles COVID, but she also said not to get panic, everything is safe now.

The district Collector Ganjam and the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) also clarified that there are no cases of COVID in the district.

The officials also said since the district is sharing boundary with Andhra Pradesh, therefore few days back, the Health Department had directed the hospitals and health centers to remain ready in case any eventuality takes place in regard of COVID in the district, as a precautionary measure.

Hence, this should not be taken as having any COVID case in the district, the officials confirmed.
