Fire Breaks Out at Shopping Mall in Jharsuguda, Firefighters Battle Blaze

Jharsuguda: A massive fire broke out at a shopping mall in Odisha’s Jharsuguda town on Wednesday morning, triggering panic in the locality and prompting a swift response from the Fire Services.

The blaze was first noticed after thick smoke and flames emerged from the building during the early hours. Following the alert, multiple fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to contain the fire.

Firefighting operations continued for several hours, with at least two fire engines actively engaged in bringing the flames under control at the time of reporting. Officials said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The incident has raised concerns among local residents as a gold jewellery showroom is situated close to the affected mall. Fearing that the fire could spread to the neighbouring establishment, authorities intensified efforts to prevent the flames from reaching nearby buildings.

Fire personnel are continuing operations to fully extinguish the blaze and prevent any further damage. There were no immediate reports of casualties, while details regarding the extent of property loss are yet to be assessed.
