CM Mohan Charan Majhi Extends Nuakhai Greetings, Calls for Social Unity

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday greeted people across the state on the occasion of Nuakhai, highlighting the festival’s deep connection with Odisha’s agricultural heritage, cultural identity and community bonds.

In a message shared on social media, Majhi extended his “Nuakhai Juhar” to the people and appealed to everyone to celebrate the festival by strengthening relationships and putting aside personal differences. He urged people to follow the traditional practice of seeking blessings from elders and gurus while extending affection and good wishes to younger members of the family.

Describing Nuakhai as much more than a traditional celebration, the Chief Minister said the festival reflects the spirit of Odisha’s soil, customs and social harmony. He noted that the occasion provides an opportunity for families and communities to come together and reinforce bonds of affection, respect and brotherhood.

Majhi also urged different sections of society, including students, young people, workers, farmers and members of the armed forces, to contribute sincerely to the state’s development. He called for collective efforts towards achieving the vision of a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and a developed India by 2047.

The Chief Minister further prayed to Maa Samalei for the wellbeing of the people of Odisha, seeking blessings for happiness, peace, prosperity and success.

Concluding his message, Majhi once again extended his Nuakhai greetings to the people and invoked Maa Samalei with the slogan, “Jai Maa Samalei.”
