Railways to Run 365 Special Trains for Rath Yatra 2025 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the world-famous Rath Yatra festival in Puri fast approaching, Indian Railways has announced an elaborate travel plan to accommodate the surge in pilgrims and tourists. A total of 365 special trains will be operated during the Rath Yatra 2025 period to ensure smooth and comfortable travel for devotees arriving from Odisha and neighbouring states.
These special trains will run in addition to the regular services and will originate from key stations across Odisha, as well as select locations in Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal. Important originating points include Rourkela, Biramitrapur, Bangiriposi, Junagarh Road, Badampahar, Boudh, Jagdalpur, Baleswar, Angul, Gunupur, Rayagada, Paradeep, Bhadrak, Kendujhar, Daspalla, Khurda Road, Sambalpur, Talcher, Cuttack, Brahmapur, Dhenkanal, Barbil, Palasa, Visakhapatnam, Gondia, and Santragachhi.

Special emphasis will be laid on key festival dates such as Gundicha Yatra, Sandhya Darshan, Bahuda Yatra, and Sunavesa, with increased train services from major towns and cities to Puri to handle peak passenger traffic.
Compared to last year’s 315 special trains, this year’s increase reflects the East Coast Railway’s heightened preparedness and dedication to facilitating a safe, efficient, and spiritually fulfilling experience for lakhs of devotees.
