Five-Storey Building Collapses in Delhi’s Seemapuri, Several Feared Trapped

A five-storey building collapsed near Idgah Machhi Mandi in Delhi’s Seemapuri area on Wednesday, damaging two to three nearby houses and triggering panic in the locality.
More than 20 people are feared trapped under the debris, though authorities have not yet confirmed the exact number of victims or injuries. Locals said cracks had appeared in the building following a recent earthquake, but the actual cause of the collapse is yet to be established.

The fire department received the emergency call around 3:30 pm and deployed four fire tenders. Delhi Police, fire officials, municipal teams and civil defence personnel are conducting rescue operations to locate and evacuate those trapped.
Traffic has also been affected around Seemapuri Gol Chakkar, DLF Bhopura and nearby roads. Police have urged commuters to avoid the area and keep roads clear for ambulances and rescue vehicles.
