Odisha launches voter enrolment drive

The Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has announced a three-day special campaign from October 7 to 9 to help eligible voters who were left out of the electoral roll during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 process.
The move comes after more than 20 lakh names were excluded from the draft electoral roll, while around 44,000 names were removed from the final roll following the revision exercise.
During the campaign, eligible citizens whose names are missing from the voter list can submit Form-6 to seek inclusion. The CEO’s office has also asked newly eligible voters to take advantage of the drive.
Deputy CEO Laxmi Prasad Sahu said the enrolment process for eligible voters will remain open until the end of October. However, special awareness and enrolment activities will be conducted across the state on October 7, 8 and 9.

Voters can approach their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for assistance in filling out and submitting Form-6.
The special drive will also cover eligible voters who were inadvertently left out of the final list or could not participate in the mapping exercise during the SIR process. Such citizens will be allowed to submit claims and objections for correction or inclusion.
For greater transparency, the CEO’s office has published lists of voters categorised as absent, shifted, dead or duplicate on the official Odisha CEO portal and district websites. Citizens can check the lists and raise objections if an eligible voter has been wrongly excluded or categorised.
The lists will also be provided to recognised political parties so their representatives can verify the entries and submit claims or objections where necessary.
Meanwhile, citizens who turned 18 by October 1, 2026, are eligible to register as voters. They can apply for inclusion by submitting Form-6 through their local BLO.
Officials said BLOs have been trained to assist applicants and ensure that the enrolment process for both left-out voters and first-time voters is completed smoothly.
