80 New Sub-Inspectors Attend Policing Orientation Programme in Cuttack

An orientation programme for around 80 newly inducted Sub-Inspectors of Odisha’s Central Range was held on October 4 at Padhee Memorial Hall, IPS Officers’ Mess, Cuttack.
Organised by the Office of the IGP, Central Range, the programme aimed to prepare the new officers for field responsibilities, emerging crime challenges and modern policing practices. The event was conducted under the guidance of DGP (HoPF) Vinaytosh Mishra, IPS.
Central Range IGP Dr Satyajit Naik addressed the officers and stressed discipline, integrity, impartiality, citizen sensitivity and adherence to the rule of law.
DIG Crime Branch Madkar Sandeep Sampat, IPS, spoke about the growing threat of cybercrime and the need for technological awareness and stronger investigative skills. Dr Ram Kishore Sharma, National Career Services and former Head, NCDS, Government of India, shared guidance on professional development and career responsibilities.
SPs from Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Nayagarh and Jagatsinghpur also interacted with the recruits and shared practical insights on field policing, leadership and professional conduct.
The participating Sub-Inspectors represented Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh districts. The programme was coordinated by Addl. SP Ashwin Kumar Sahoo and Addl. SP Minakshi Thakur.
The session concluded with a focus on ethical policing, technological preparedness, professional excellence and citizen-oriented public service.
