Two Minors Missing After Being Swept Away in Subarnarekha

Balasore: Two minors are feared missing after being swept away by strong currents while bathing in the Subarnarekha River near Rajpur in Jaleswar block of Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday.
According to preliminary information, the two children had entered the river to bathe when they reportedly lost their balance and were pulled into deeper water by the strong current.


People nearby noticed the incident and raised an alarm, prompting villagers to rush to the riverbank and attempt a rescue. However, the force of the water made the initial efforts difficult.
Fire Services personnel and local police soon reached the spot and launched a search operation. Local divers and villagers are assisting the rescue teams as they search downstream for the missing minors.


The incident has triggered concern among residents, while the families of the children have gathered at the site awaiting updates. Their identities and further details about the incident are yet to be officially confirmed.
