Rajnath Singh: India Confident in Its Heritage and Capabilities

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India has emerged not only as a major global economy but also as a nation confident in its civilisational heritage, culture and capabilities.
Addressing the 11th Convocation Ceremony of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow, Singh said the world now listens when India speaks. He highlighted that India is no longer simply following global rules but is increasingly playing a role in shaping them.
The Defence Minister said pride in India’s language, culture and civilisation strengthens the country’s self-reliance and overall development. He added that the government is working to make India stronger economically, mentally and culturally.

Singh also stressed that universities must go beyond awarding degrees and contribute to nation-building. Educational institutions, he said, should inspire young people to uphold the values of justice, equality, liberty and fraternity.
He further highlighted improvements in the quality, accessibility and affordability of education over the past 12 years. Singh said spending on research and development has doubled, while the National Education Policy was introduced after a gap of 34 years.
According to Singh, these reforms have encouraged Indian youth to build startups, unicorns and advanced technologies.
