36-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Shot In Sambalpur’s Burla

Sambalpur: A 36-year-old man died after sustaining gunshot injuries in a firing incident within the Burla police station area of Sambalpur district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Md Anish.

According to preliminary police findings, the shooting was reportedly linked to a personal dispute and an old grievance between the individuals involved. Police have detained the alleged accused, Raja Swami of Mangala Bazar in Jharsuguda, for questioning at Burla police station.

The firearm allegedly used in the incident has also been recovered and seized by the police.

Officials said further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances leading to the shooting and determine the exact sequence of events.

Police have also stated that the incident appears to have arisen from a dispute between the parties and, at present, there is no indication that it posed any random or broader threat to the public.
