PM Modi Calls for Greater Youth Role in Policymaking

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for stronger engagement between government departments, universities and young people to bring fresh and unconventional ideas into policymaking. At a high-level meeting with government secretaries in New Delhi, Modi stressed the need for long-term thinking, better coordination among departments and breaking organisational silos.

He also called for responsible use of Artificial Intelligence alongside human judgement and said data should be treated as a national asset. The Prime Minister further highlighted the need to boost research, innovation, defence manufacturing and human resource development.

On the maritime sector, Modi urged a mission-mode approach to shipbuilding and called for shifting from port development to broader port-led development.
