Four Bombs Explode Near NHAI Camp in Cuttack; Five Live Bombs Recovered

Cuttack: Panic gripped Kantapanhara village under Banki Police Station after unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled explosives near an NHAI camp on Monday. Four bombs reportedly exploded in the vicinity, while police later recovered five unexploded bombs from the surrounding area.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
According to police, security guards stationed at the NHAI camp heard a series of loud blasts and immediately alerted personnel at Banki Police Station. A police team rushed to the location and found signs of explosions at four separate spots near the camp.
Police subsequently launched a search of the surrounding area and recovered five live bombs, which were safely secured.
Following the incident, a scientific team, bomb disposal squad and dog squad were deployed at the site. The teams examined the blast locations, searched for additional explosives and collected possible forensic evidence as part of the investigation.
Banki SDPO Balakrushna Kanhar said an FIR has been registered based on a complaint filed by the NHAI camp authorities.
The officer said police reached the location immediately after receiving information about the explosions and verified the blast sites. He added that the recovery of five unexploded bombs had prompted a detailed examination of the area.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible. Efforts are underway to establish the sequence of events and ascertain how the explosives were brought to the area.
