Crocodile Drags 55-Year-Old Man into Kharasrota River in Jajpur

Jajpur: A 55-year-old man was dragged away by a crocodile while bathing in the Kharasrota River in Jajpur district on Tuesday, triggering panic among locals.

The incident took place near Chhatishdevibil in Solabati village under Jajpur block.

The victim has been identified as Harihar Jena, son of Binod Jena.

According to eyewitnesses, Jena had entered the river for a bath when a crocodile suddenly attacked and pulled him into the deep water.

After getting alerted Fire services personnel reached the spot and launched a search operation. Despite scouring several stretches of the river for hours, officials said there was no trace of him till last reports came in.

Local residents have gathered at the site, while the administration is closely monitoring the situation. The search operation is continuing.
