7 Odisha Devotees Killed in MP Flash Flood

Seven devotees from Odisha, including three children, died after the car they were travelling in was swept away by a strong water current near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday.
The victims, reportedly from Jayadev Vihar in Bhubaneswar, had travelled from Ujjain to visit the temple. The family was caught in the overflowing stream following heavy overnight rainfall.

Police said rescue teams and local officials reached the spot soon after receiving information and began operations. Agar Malwa SP Dillip Kumar Soni said the water flow was extremely strong and the driver may have attempted to cross the affected stretch, leading to the tragedy.

The deceased reportedly included several members of the same family, including a son, grandson, granddaughter, daughter and son-in-law. Police are working to formally establish their identities.The family was known to travel together every year, while an engagement ceremony in the family was also reportedly scheduled in the coming days. Authorities are coordinating arrangements to bring the bodies back to Odisha.
