100-Member Japanese Delegation to Visit Odisha to Explore Investment and Tourism Opportunities

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is set to strengthen its ties with Japan, with a 100-member delegation from Japan’s Tottori Prefecture scheduled to visit the state next month. The visit will focus on exploring opportunities for investment, industrial collaboration, employment and tourism.

Led by Tottori Governor Shinji Hirai, the delegation will include senior government officials, industrialists and representatives of various organisations. During the visit, discussions with the Odisha government will cover potential cooperation in industry, trade, tourism and technology.

The visit is expected to strengthen business partnerships and encourage Japanese investment in Odisha, while also promoting cultural and tourism exchanges between the two sides.

Kuna Dash, an Indian business adviser to the Tottori government, is also part of the initiative. She has highlighted Odisha’s potential to attract Japanese tourists, particularly through its rich Buddhist heritage.

The state’s ancient Buddhist sites could serve as a major attraction for visitors from Japan. According to the Chief Secretary, special initiatives could be developed to showcase these historical and cultural landmarks to Japanese tourists.

The visit marks an important step towards expanding Odisha-Japan cooperation in economic, technological and tourism-related sectors.
