Three chariots complete Dakshina Moda ahead of Bahuda Yatra

Puri: The three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra have been successfully turned southward (Dakshina Moda) ahead of the Bahuda Yatra near the Gundicha Temple.

On Tuesday, Devi Subhadra’s Darpadalana chariot became the first to complete the Dakshina Moda ritual near the Nakachana Dwara of Gundicha Temple. Due to heavy rainfall yesterday, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) was forced to halt the turning of two chariots.

On Wednesday, Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosha and Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja chariots also completed the ceremonial turn.

With the southward turning of all three chariots, technical inspection of the chariots will be carried out shortly.

Thousands of devotees have gathered at Saradha Bali to witness the auspicious ritual and seek the blessings of the Holy Trinity.

The district administration and the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) have made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival.

The Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will be held on July 24.
