Sambalpur, Anugola court receives fresh bomb threat

Sambalpur/Anugola: Fresh emails threatening bomb attacks were sent to two courts in Sambalpur and Anugola on Monday morning, putting police officials in both the districts on their toes.

After the District and Sessions court in Sambalpur received the bomb threat email again, police launched a comprehensive security operation, deploying personnel to secure the premises. The bomb disposal squad was roped in to conduct a thorough search. The advocates and the staff of the court were immediately asked to evacuate the court complex.

A similar threat was reported at the Civil Court complex in Anugola. An email, purportedly sent from pravanjanilucknow@ori, allegedly warned of bomb blasts. Following the email, the District and Sessions Judge of Anugola formally requested the SP to deploy adequate security personnel and a bomb squad to carry out a detailed search of the premises.

Earlier, also bomb threat mails was received at the Sambalpur court on July 13 and immediately bomb disposal squad, along with a dog squad and police personnel, was deployed to the court premises. Teams carried out an extensive search operation, including checks inside the court building.
