Rohit Sharma Mimics Virat Kohli’s ‘You Can’t See Me’ Celebration During 2nd ODI Against New Zealand

Wellington: Indian opener Rohit Sharma entertained fans during the second ODI against New Zealand on Saturday by recreating Virat Kohli’s viral John Cena-inspired celebration from the opening match.
The incident occurred when New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips walked out to bat and the stadium DJ played WWE legend John Cena’s iconic entrance music. Rohit flashed a grin and waved his open hand across his face, imitating Cena’s famous ‘You Can’t See Me’ gesture.
Kohli had performed the same celebration during the first ODI in Auckland while teasing Phillips. Rohit’s act also prompted former India batter Ajinkya Rahane and cricket analyst Ajay Jadeja to recreate the gesture during the live broadcast.
Meanwhile, India’s bowlers dominated the rain-curtailed 47-over contest after captain Shubman Gill elected to field. New Zealand were bowled out for 134, with Gurnoor Brar claiming four wickets. Auqib Nabi, Axar Patel and Anshul Kamboj picked up two wickets each.
Daryl Mitchell top-scored for the hosts with 55 runs, while Mitchell Santner contributed 31. The home side lost their final three wickets for just eight runs.
Rohit, who registered a six-ball duck in the opening ODI, will be eager to make a comeback with the bat. He has scored 604 runs in 13 matches in 2026 at an average of 46.46, including two centuries and two half-centuries.
India entered the second ODI with a 1-0 lead after securing a five-wicket victory in the series opener.
