Retired Teacher Convicted in Disproportionate Assets Case in Jeypore

Jeypore: Unna Rajendra Patro, a retired teacher of SSD High School at Dukum under Bisamcuttack in Rayagada district, was convicted by the Special Vigilance Court in Jeypore in a disproportionate assets case.
The Special Vigilance Judge, Jeypore, found him guilty under Section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He has been sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 50,000.

Patro was charge-sheeted by the Odisha Vigilance Department for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his service period.
Following the conviction, the Vigilance Department will move the competent authority for the stoppage of his pension.
