RCs of 258 Habitual Traffic Violators Recommended for Cancellation

Bhubaneswar: Acting on the directive of the State Transport Authority (STA), Cuttack, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has recommended the cancellation of registration certificates (RCs) of 258 habitual traffic violators in the first phase.

The police have also urged transport authorities to cancel the fitness certificates of vehicles owned by these repeat offenders.

According to an official statement issued by the Commissionerate Police, the action follows the identification of several vehicle owners who have repeatedly violated traffic rules and failed to pay fines imposed against them.

Meanwhile, the STA, Odisha, has instructed all regional transport officers (RTOs) to blacklist vehicles belonging to such habitual violators and initiate the process of cancelling their Registration and Fitness Certificates in cases of repeated offences.
