Rayagada Jawan Killed on Duty Days Before Wedding, Donates Organs

Grief has gripped Odisha’s Rayagada district after 30-year-old Assam Rifles jawan V Teja died while on duty in Nagaland on Monday, days before his planned wedding.
Teja was scheduled to marry on December 10 and had recently secured 50 days of leave to return home for Diwali and wedding preparations. He would have turned 31 on October 7. He joined the Indian Army in 2022 with a desire to serve the nation.
In a final act of service, Teja had pledged his organs two years ago. Honouring his wish, medical teams in Nagaland retrieved and preserved his organs for donation.
His mortal remains are being flown to Visakhapatnam via Hyderabad and will be taken to Rayagada by ambulance for the final rites.
