Over 40 Fall Ill After Consuming Dahibara in Jajpur Village, Health Scare Triggers Probe

Jajpur: A health scare gripped Patapur village under Jayantara panchayat in Dasarathpur block of Jajpur district on Saturday morning after more than 40 people fell ill allegedly after consuming ‘dahibara’ purchased from a local vendor.
According to reports, over a hundred villagers had eaten the popular street food sourced from a vendor belonging to a nearby village. Soon after, several individuals began experiencing symptoms of illness in quick succession, prompting panic in the area.
The affected persons were initially taken to the Dasarathpur Community Health Centre. However, due to inadequate bed capacity and the worsening condition of some patients, more than 30 individuals were later shifted to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment.
Upon receiving information, Chief District Medical Officer Bijay Kumar Mishra visited the hospital and reviewed the situation. Health officials are closely monitoring the patients, while the exact cause of the illness is yet to be ascertained.
Preliminary suspicion points towards possible food contamination, though authorities have not ruled out other factors. A detailed investigation is expected to determine the exact cause of the incident.
