Odisha: Youth throws hot oil on street food seller

Bhubaneswar: A youth has arrested for allegedly throwing hot oil on a momo seller over delay in service leaving him with severe burn injuries.

The accused was identified as one Amit Swarup Mahapatra alias Salia. The incident took place on March 4 near the Airport police station area

According to the police, one Somanath Rout runs Momo shop at Bhimpur, was approached by the Amit for the service on March 4 Evening.  However, a heated argument took place among the two over delay in serving the momo.

Meanwhile, the situation gets out of control after Amit threw hot oil on his body. Somanath suffered burn injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

On the basis of his complaint, under Sections 341, 294, 323, 326, and 506 of IPC,  police had launched a probe into this matter and arrested the accused yesterday from the Nayagarh area.
