Odisha Road Accidents: Four Killed in Separate Crashes in Kandhamal and Jajpur

Four persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Odisha’s Kandhamal and Jajpur districts late on Friday night, prompting police to launch investigations into both incidents.
The first accident occurred near Mahasingh Bridge under the Baliguda police limits in Kandhamal district. According to preliminary reports, an unidentified vehicle allegedly crashed into a motorcycle carrying three people. The impact was severe, leaving two victims dead at the scene, while the third person succumbed to injuries during treatment at the Baliguda Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Police officials said the identities of the deceased have not yet been established. A search has been launched to trace the vehicle involved, and investigators are examining evidence from the accident site to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal collision.
In another tragic incident, one person lost his life and another sustained critical injuries after a car reportedly hit a motorcycle near Ghusuriasahi Bridge in Jajpur district. The injured victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where treatment is currently underway.
Police have registered separate cases in both districts and are investigating the exact cause of the accidents. Efforts are also underway to identify the vehicles involved and gather additional evidence, including eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage, if available.
The twin tragedies have once again highlighted the growing concern over road safety in Odisha. Authorities have appealed to motorists to follow traffic regulations, maintain safe speeds, and drive cautiously, particularly during night hours, to help prevent such fatal accidents.
Police said further details will be shared as the investigations progress.
