Odisha CM Mohan Majhi leads 12th International Day of Yoga celebration at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: The entire state of Odisha joined the world celebrating the 12th International Day of Yoga today with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi leading from front.
A mega event was held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar where thousands o people from different walks of life took part in the Yoga day which is being marked with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”
On this occasion, the CM said extended his International Yoga Day greetings to everyone and said that Yoga should be a part of life.
“Yoga is the essence of health, mental balance, social harmony and spiritual well-being. Yoga inspires us to make our future beautiful,” he said.
“Thousands of years ago, yoga is a priceless gift given to the society by our sages. Yoga is not just exercise, it is a science to keep the physical and mental consciousness healthy,” he added.
The CM further said that Yoga was created in Indian culture, but now it has transcended caste, and religion.
Earlier, yoga was limited only to our country, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed it in the United Nations and with the support of various countries, World Yoga Day is being celebrated all over the world today, Majhi mentioned.
“Today, lakhs of people have joined in all districts of Odisha and our government is working hard to spread and expand yoga to everywhere,” the CM informed.
“Since Yoga is essential for a healthy life, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also adopted yoga and I request the youth of Odisha to take up yoga,” the Chief Minister appealed while saying that the state government’s goal is to create a healthy and prosperous Odisha and Yoga is a big element in this.
