Naveen Patnaik to Visit Nuapada Again on November 7 for BJD Campaign

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced that he will visit Nuapada once again on November 7 to campaign for the party’s bypoll candidate Snehangini Chhuria.

In a video message, Patnaik greeted the people of Nuapada with a heartfelt “Juhar” and thanked them for their massive turnout and enthusiastic response during his earlier public meeting at Komna on November 3.

Expressing gratitude for their continuous support, the BJD chief said he looks forward to meeting the people of Nuapada and Khariar Road again on November 7 to “interact with them and seek their blessings” for Chhuria.

Meanwhile, the Congress has also ramped up its campaign in the region. The party has fielded senior tribal leader Ghasiram Majhi as its candidate, with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy scheduled to campaign for him in Nuapada on the same day, November 7.

Earlier, the Congress had listed Reddy, his deputy Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot among its 40 star campaigners for the bypoll.

The Nuapada by-election was necessitated by the death of sitting BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia on September 8. Polling will take place on November 11, and campaigning will conclude on November 9, according to election officials.
