Man Detained for Murder of Sister-in-Law in Balangir

Balangir: Police have detained a man for the alleged murder of his sister-in-law at Chitramunda village under Muribahal police limits in Balangir district.

The accused has been identified as Bhojraj Sahu, while the deceased is Janaki Sahu alias Ranju. The incident took place on the night of May 2.

According to reports, the victim’s husband, a migrant worker, had been staying outside the state for a long time. During this period, the accused allegedly developed a relationship with the victim. However, tensions arose after she became close to another man from a nearby village.

Police said the accused, allegedly driven by jealousy, attacked and killed the woman.

Bhojraj Sahu is currently being interrogated by Muribahal police. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
