ITDA Clerk in Vigilance Trap

Kandhamal (Reporters Today Bureau): Vigilance arrested a Clerk of Integrated Tribal Development Agency after he was found in possession of over Rs 13 lakh cash here in the district.

Yesterday, Basanta Kumar Pani, the Head Clerk of PA, ITDA Office, Baliguda, was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 6,000 from a contractor for processing file for release of security deposit.

During searches that continued till late night on Wednesday, the Vigilance officials recovered Rs 13.25 lakh cash from his house. Following raids, the Vigilance booked the corrupt government under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. On Tuesday, a Tahasildar was found in possession of huge cash in Nimapada district.
