IMD Issues Yellow Warning for Dense Fog in Several Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several districts of Odisha on December 22 and 23, advising residents and commuters to remain cautious during early morning hours due to poor visibility.

As per the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Kandhamal on December 22. Shallow to moderate fog is also expected at isolated places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Koraput on the same day.

Similar weather conditions are likely to persist on December 23, with dense fog predicted in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Kandhamal, while shallow to moderate fog may affect the remaining districts.

The IMD has cautioned that reduced visibility could disrupt road, rail and air transportation. Commuters have been advised to plan travel accordingly, while motorists are urged to drive carefully and use fog lights during early morning hours.
