IMD issues orange warning for rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reportedly issued orange warning for rain in different parts of Odisha.

According to the weather department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur over some districts of the state while light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Odisha.

Check the day-wise warning for Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of July 18):

• ORANGE WARNING: Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baragada, Sonpur, Boudh, Bolangir.
• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Anugola, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawrangpur.
• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 18 to 8.30 AM of July 19):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargada, Baragada, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Bolangir.
• Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonpur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawrangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagada.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 19 to 8.30 AM of July 20):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj.
• Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonpur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawrangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagada.

Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 20 to 8.30 AM of July 21):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj.
• Light to Moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj and very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sonpur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawrangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagada.
