Homeopathic Doctor Beaten To Death Over Land Dispute In Kendrapara; Four Detained

Bhubaneswar: A homeopathic doctor was allegedly beaten to death by his elder brother and other family members over a long-standing land dispute in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

The deceased has been identified as Golak Chandra Nauri, a homeopathic practitioner from Baradang village under Mahakalapada police limits.

According to reports, a heated argument erupted late on Thursday night between Golak and his elder brother Abhay over the property dispute. The quarrel soon turned violent, following which Abhay and several other family members allegedly attacked Golak.

Police sources said the accused continued assaulting him even after he fell unconscious.

The critically injured Golak was first taken to the Mahakalapada Community Health Centre and later shifted to the Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the incident, police detained four persons, including the prime accused Abhay, in connection with the murder.

An investigation into the case is currently underway.
