India Women’s Kabaddi Team Wins Gold at Asian Games 2026

India secured its third gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games as the women’s kabaddi team defeated Iran 37-34 in a closely fought final at the Tokai Citizen Gymnasium in Aichi-Nagoya.

The Indian team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and held its nerve in the decisive final to claim the top prize.The kabaddi gold follows India’s earlier victories in women’s cricket and the 10m air pistol mixed team event, where Suruchi Singh Phogat and Kamaljeet secured the title.

India’s men’s kabaddi team will also take on Iran in the final later today, with the team looking to add another gold to the country’s medal tally. India won the men’s kabaddi title at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games after its earlier seven-edition winning streak was interrupted in 2018.
