Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah detained under public safety Act

(Reporters Today, Bhubaneswar): Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has been detained under Jammu & Kashmir’s stringent Public Safety Act, reports said. The act gives the administration the right to detain a person without trial for two years. The state government has ordered that the former Chief Minister’s residence will be treated as a temporary jail. However, there is no bar on meeting relatives and friends.
