Flood Situation: Classes Suspended in 313 Schools Across 8 Jajpur Blocks

Bhubaneswar: With floods and waterlogging affecting several areas of Jajpur district, the district administration has ordered the temporary suspension of classes in 313 schools across eight blocks.
The decision was taken through an order issued by the District Education Office, Jajpur, following the directions of the Collector and District Magistrate. The suspension applies to government, government-aided and private educational institutions offering Elementary, Secondary and Higher Secondary education in the affected areas.

Schools in the Bari, Dasarathpur, Binjharpur, Rasulpur, Korei, Dharmasala, Jajpur and Badchana blocks will remain closed until further orders. However, educational institutions in unaffected parts of the district will continue to operate normally.
Despite the suspension of academic activities, the school buildings will remain open and can be used for rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations whenever required by the district administration.
The move is aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff while also enabling authorities to utilise school premises to support relief efforts in flood-hit areas.
The District Education Office has circulated the order to all Block Education Officers, heads of the concerned educational institutions and other relevant authorities, including the School and Mass Education Department, for necessary action.
